I love when my kids get dirty!

Kids should be allowed to get dirty!

It never fails, each year at summer camp (outdoor camp), I hear a parent tell their child, “Try not to get too dirty today.” Or being upset with how filthy their child is at pick up. Last summer I had a young counselor sheepishly apologize to me for how dirty my child was.

Well – here’s the deal. It’s an all OUTDOOR summer camp. I would not send my child there if I did not expect, hope or encourage them to explore and have fun and YES, GET DIRTY!

Dirty Kids

I love when my kids are dirty.

I love when they are filthy from head to toe.

I love when they need a second bubble bath,

When they had one just two hours ago.

They don’t get dirty playing on their phones.

They don’t get dirty watching TV.

They don’t get dirty curled up on the couch.

They don’t get dirty constantly pestering me.

I love when my kids are dirty.

I love when they are filthy from head to toe.

I love when they are so sweaty I don’t want to hug them.

I love that I do it anyway, because I love them so.

They don’t get filthy lying around.

They don’t get filthy devouring sweets.

They don’t get filthy kicked back watching a movie.

They don’t get filthy when they are off their feet.

I love when my kids are dirty.

I love when they are filthy from head to toe.

I love the smiles from ear to ear.

I love the sheer bliss with their eyes all aglow.

They don’t get dirty staying inside.

They don’t get filthy watching YouTube all day.

They don’t get dirty when they try to stay clean…

They get filthy when they go out to play.

I love when my kids are dirty.

It means they are enjoying being alive.

I love when they are filthy from head to toe.

It’s a joy for which they will never be deprived.

When my kids are dirty, I know they had a good day.

When my children are filthy, I know they found an active way to play.

When my kids are clean, they look utterly lazy and bored.

I love when my kids are dirty. Their filthy faces I adore.

Children should be allowed to get dirty.

Children should be encouraged to play.

Children should be out in the sunshine.

Children should be out in the rain.

Let your children go out and get dirty.

If you need to, go out and show them how.

Allow your littles to just be little for a while.

Playing and growing and getting filthy somehow.
