My Journey to Lose 20 Pounds – Week 4

Week 4 of my weight loss journey – primarily using calorie counting… trying to drop 20 pounds in around 4 months time.

Well frick y’all, I am not good at this. The ADD side of me is already bored of blogging and trying to lose weight. Go figure. This week’s results:

Yup… that’s right… the same as 2 weeks ago. In fairness, last Friday I was slightly up, but when I cheated and weighed in last Saturday, I was right at 203.2… and lost a whopping 0.0 this week. Luckily, it wasn’t a gain.

So, what’s this week’s excuse? Whelp… as I mentioned in the last update, my son was home for a week, celebrating his 24th birthday. We had some family gatherings, treats and a few more dining out excursions than recommended when trying to reduce calories. He left Tuesday, BUT Monday I was starting to get sick… by Thursday I was struggling to stay upright and running a fever. Friday I could barely breath just from one trek up my stairs. That made me decide to take a Covid test – yay! Negative! For whatever that matters, I still felt like crap!

Anyway – while some people say they aren’t hungry when they get sick, NOT ME. NOPE. In fact, when I can’t seem to do anything aside from eating and sleeping, I tend to want to indulge more in those activities.

Overall, I will say I could have done a whole lot worse, but am scolding myself because I also could have done a whole lot better.

My saving grace for this update – Saturday I also got my monthly visitor. Which SHOULD mean, I am up a pound or so just from natural womanhood, and SHOULD mean, I will automatically drop a pound or so this week and be able to show a happier weight pic next week.

202-209 has been my bodies “happy zone” for a few years now. I will be so excited if I can breach the 202 boundary and will then get super psyched to cross into the 100’s again. 100+99 still counts, right???

No other pics from this weigh in. It was all I could force myself to do to stand on the scale and snap a pic. Plus I was dripping with sweat and just all around gross. No one needs to see that. I wish I hadn’t.

Thanks to those who reached out with words of encouragement! It goes a long way!

If anyone else is on a weight loss journey, or wants to be, and would like a friend to do it with, shoot me some comments or reach out. I would love a partner in this quest for a better self.

If anyone wants to contribute to the elliptical machine I desperately want, but cannot afford, feel free to send donations to [email protected] on Paypal or Venmo – @Caroline-Miller-12296 (Can’t blame me for trying, right????)

Stay tuned for week 4 results and onward!
